Lucknow: The state cabinet on Wednesday approved signing an MoU with Daya Bhavana Foundation to set up cow shelters and veterinary facilities on five acres of animal husbandry department land in Jhansi. Under the agreement, the foundation will fund the construction of a veterinary hospital and undertake allied activities at its own expense. The Injured animals, including cattle hurt on highways and other cases referred by the department or district administration, will receive treatment free of cost. After the hospital is built, a cowshed for destitute cattle will be developed on the remaining land. The project also includes cultivating green fodder for cattle maintenance. The animal husbandry department will retain ownership of the land.
