Gorakhpur group holds 5-day ‘Rang e Awargi’

Lucknow: The 5-day theatre festival ‘Rang e Awargi', by Rupantran Natya Sanstha, Gorakhpur, began at UP Sangeet Natak Akademi on Wednesday with staging of Bhojpuri play ‘Kahat Bhikhari'. Written by Aparnesh Mishra and directed by Sunil Jaiswal, the play depicts life and work of Bhojpuri playwright, poet and musician, Bhikhari Thakur.The characters were played by Arpanesh Mishra, Aditya Rajan, Harikesh Pandey, Pawan Kumar, Shrishti Gaur , Ritika Singh, Nishikhant Pandey, Chandan Yadav, Vicky Prajapati, Pankaj Saini and Nikita Srivastava. On day 2, discussion on ‘Natyashastra' will be held while two plays ‘Camp' and ‘No Man's Land' will be staged. On day 3, a play ‘Aadhi Roti Pura Chand' will be staged. A mushaira and a play ‘Ho Sakta Hai Do Aadmi Do Kursiyan' will be the highlight of day 3, while the festival will conclude with staging of the play ‘Redevelopment' .
