Festival vibe kills winter chill; bands play, crowds sway, eat, shop
Lucknow: The 2-day music and cultural festival at Janeshwar Mishra Park on Saturday drew huge crowds. Despite intense cold, people turned up to enjoy musical performances by renowned bands and singers. The festival began on a high note as music bands ‘Last Cigarette Theory' and ‘Nacheez' sang jazz and retro Hindi film numbers. The energy then surged with a powerful performance by singer Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, who performed in Lucknow for the first time and won people's hearts by singing romantic film songs.
In the evening, singer Rabbi Shergill set the stage alive and audience grooved to his hits ‘Ranjheya', ‘Jugni', ‘Kitni der tak' ‘Chhalla' and ended his performance with his most popular song ‘Tere bin'. Praising the crowd for the energy, Rabbi ended his show with a promise to come up with a song on Lucknow. Beyond music, the festival offers various stalls of accessories, jewellery, handicrafts, crockery, perfumes and food. A visitor, Rujuta Kalra, said, "The energy and the vibe of the festival is top notch and best thing is there is a kids zone where I have left my kids to play while I'm enjoying the festival". Mehul Rastogi and his friends enjoyed pizza and kebab paratha in food section. "From music to food and bazaar, everything is terrific here," he said. Children enjoyed on swings and played at kids zone. Volunteers dressed as cartoons characters shook hands with people and children.
