Energy expo highlights solar expansion, AI-driven power systems
Lucknow: Strategies to scale solar adoption and accelerate UP’s clean energy transition took centre stage at the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Energy Expo 2026 on Friday, where policymakers, industry leaders and clean-tech firms deliberated on the future of renewable energy and smart power technologies in the state.
The second day of the three-day expo witnessed discussions on rooftop solar expansion, utility scale solar parks, agrivoltaics and AI-driven energy management systems, highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s growing ambition to emerge as a major clean energy hub.
Organised jointly by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry UP chapter and FirstVIEW in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency, Invest UP and UPPCL, the event brought together policymakers, manufacturers, investors, startups and developers from across India’s renewable energy ecosystem.
One of the key discussions focused on utility-scale solar parks and financing ecosystems, while another session highlighted expanding rooftop solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
Experts from UPPCL and UPERC also explored integrating solar technology with agriculture through PM-KUSUM and agrivoltaic models.
CEO, Sigenergy India, Abhilash Borana, said future depends on scalable and user-friendly clean energy solutions where solar power, battery storage, AI-driven energy management systems and EV charging come together into a seamless smart platform.
Likewise, CEO of FirstView Group, Varun Gulati, said: “Clean energy technologies are no longer a future concept but a present-day necessity, and Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself at the centre of this transition.”
Organisers said the expo recorded a footfall of nearly 7,000 visitors over the two days, reflecting rising interest in renewable energy and sustainable technologies in Uttar Pradesh.
