CM: Ensure plastic-free zone, cleanliness for Navratri fair
Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed arrangements for Chaitra Navratri fair in Mirzapur and directed the officials to ensure that the fair area is kept clean and plastic-free.
He also took stock of the ongoing development works and projects in Mirzapur.
"Door-to-door garbage collection should be carried out to improve sanitation, and ghats and roads should be kept clean. Safety arrangements must be ensured at the ghats for bathing," the CM said, adding that the arrangement of clean drinking water for devotees should be arranged.
"Facility of mobile toilets, electricity supply, and deployment of NDRF, SDRF, divers, and water police along the Ganga should be ensured," the CM said.
Yogi directed that proper arrangements should be made at every shop to ensure the safety of the belongings of devotees. There should be adequate parking arrangements and devotees should not have to walk long distances, the CM said..
Adequate CCTV cameras should be installed for security. Beggars should stay at designated places and provided food through community kitchens," he added.
Directing for verification of e-rickshaws and auto-rickshaws, Yogi said that police personnel should behave courteously with devotees. "Health camps should be set up in the fair area with sufficient doctors and medicines," he said.
The CM directed officials to hold meetings with public representatives and entrepreneurs to resolve their issues. He said that land should be allocated to investors to facilitate the establishment of industries.
He also directed officials to take strict action against those involved in cow smuggling and illegal slaughter. Farmer registry should be completed 100%, and consolidation work should be resolved within a fixed timeline, he said.
Stressing the need for accountability among officials, the CM said that cross-verification of animal husbandry and cow protection centres should be carried out.
Assessing ongoing works in the district, the CM said that pending revenue cases should be resolved. He instructed Jal Jeevan Mission officials to ensure water supply to every household.
"Contractors are bound by agreements to carry out repairs for 10 years after project handover. Any negligence will invite action. Officials should also verify drinking water projects along with public representatives," he said.
Mirzapur district magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar informed the CM that the fair area has been divided into 10 zones and 21 sectors. Surveillance will be conducted through 206 CCTV cameras, six AI-enabled cameras, and four drones.
"Administrative and police control rooms have been set up. The fair area will have 21 parking sites, drinking water facilities at 50 locations, shelters, lighting at ghats and roads, 15 permanent transformers, and four reserve transformers," he added.
"The govt has deputed over 1,000 sanitation workers in the fair area, which will have 103 temporary toilets, three mobile toilets, and 50 permanent toilets," he said.
