Investigators said the duo came under suspicion during a probe last month into the seizure of 200 grams of MDMA by Dansaf (district anti-narcotics special action force) and Medical College police.
According to police, financial transactions linked to the operation were routed through Narfana's bank account to avoid raising suspicion. She is employed as a beautician.
Irfan has been allegedly sourcing synthetic drugs from Bengaluru and Delhi among other places, and distributed them using a network of retail peddlers.
Police also found that Irfan had obtained around 10 mobile SIM cards using forged identity documents.
