Seven Presidency University students on hunger strike
KOLKATA: Seven students of Presidency University went on an indefinite hunger strike on the campus in protest against the suspension of three students for the entire semester.
They are camping in the portico of the main building where they organised a sit-in last year to protest against the delay in the renovation of Hindu Hostel. The three students were found guilty of locking the university gates a day before the convocation, which finally had to be shifted out of the campus.
"The suspension must be withdrawn," said PG student Ayan chakraborti. The university will observe its foundation day on Sunday.

The student body like most of the impulsive and pampered public have no idea or sense of responsibility to pursue their education and are engaged in hijacking law and order by pure imposition of numbers. If only every citizen in the country would follow their own sense of responsibility, there would be no cause for concern. The complete and collective indoctrination with the belief that everything can be controlled by holding the public to ransom is the very embodiment of moral corruption. This collective madness of overindulging in personal rights at the cost of personal duty, and attempting to take one''s own life willy-nilly is a crime at best, not heroism. A mass movement of donating blood against a cause, helping the poor, feeding the hungry, taking care of stray animals are far greater acts of bravery than such petulant acts of collective bullying. The prevailing mindset of victimhood that has overshadowed the basic sense of taking responsibility is the greatest threat to our youngsters whose attitude that they are beyond the law and are empowered to do what they please is self-destructive.Read allPost comment
