The Karveer police arrested Milind Ashok Patil (24) and Pramod Ayarekar (21) on Monday and Ganesh Khalaguddagi and Nishant alias Munna Mane on Tuesday.
The police said they were interrogating the four accused and trying to find out the whereabouts of the four others who are on the run. An officer in the Karveer police station said the cellphones of the six absconders were switched off, making the task to track them difficult.
The police said Gadgil's murder was the result of a political rivalry between two groups - one belonging to late Ashok Patil, the former deputy sarpanch of Pachgaon, and the other owing allegiance to Dilip Jadhav. Patil's group is close to the Dhananjay Mahadik group, while Jadhav's group is affiliated to the Congress. Jadhav had been arrested for the murder of Ashok Patil and Gadgil, who was killed on Sunday.
