Youth electrocuted in Adimali
Idukki: A youth died after suffering electric shock while clearing vegetation that was in contact with an electric line in Adimali on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Ramesh, 24, son of Rajappan and Ani of Padikkappu Unnathi.
The accident occurred on Friday evening during vegetation-clearing work near Irumbupalam in Adimali. While other workers were engaged in cutting the vegetation, he attempted to remove a fuse to disconnect the power supply. Ramesh, who was engaged by KSEB for the work, initially tried to remove the fuse with one hand but when it did not come off, he used both hands. During the attempt, one of his hands accidentally came into contact with the fuse assembly, resulting in a suffering electric shock.
KSEB officials who were present at the site immediately rushed him to Adimali taluk hospital but his life could not be saved. The body has been kept at the Adimali taluk hospital mortuary.
