Kottayam: Health minister Veena George stated that she is not someone who is intimidated by protests and that she would be present without any police protection. The minister said this after Youth Congress workers arrived at her house in Angadikkal to protest. She mentioned that she is not afraid of protests and that DYFI workers would also be there to support her.Veena alleged that the protests against her were being carried out following the instructions of opposition leader V D Satheesan. She criticized that time is not far when the people of Kerala will place a wreath on the Congress. The current agitations will turn against Congress as they are acting irrationally during a time of crisis. Veena alleged that Congress realized they will lose the elections, which is why they are creating such chaos now. Veena also challenged journalists to explain the shortcomings of the health department, including the incident where a forceps was left inside a patient's stomach. She pointed out that the department undertook unprecedented developmental activities during the LDF's rule.
