Thodupuzha horror: Kerala HC orders for faster trial

KOCHI: The

Kerala High Court

on Monday directed for expediting the trial in the

Thodupuzha

’s incident where two children were subjected to inhuman torture by mother’s live-in partner, leading to death of one child.


Senior public prosecutor Suman Chakravarthy had informed the court that investigation in the case has been completed and that the mother of the children and her live-in partner, Arun Anand, have been named as accused.

The cases were registered against Arun Anand for sexually abusing the younger child and for swindling the bank deposits in the name of the children.

The elder child, seven-year-old, was admitted to a hospital at Kolencherry on March 28 due to brain injury from alleged torture by Anand, he had succumbed to injuries on April 6.
