Kottayam: G Sudhakaran stated that CPM is not a party of labourers but of political criminals, while responding to media personnel in Ambalappuzha on Thursday. "Pinarayi Vijayan is the one ruling CPM. If party is not ready to reform, this will be its last election. M A Baby, who reads and speaks well, is a good person. But what's the point of saying that? What ideology or philosophy exists for CPM in Kerala? Party is with the elite and wealthy.
This is not said to destroy CPM, but for self-criticism. Secular parties like CPM and Congress are needed in Kerala. Chief minister said I would be trampled into mire. Vijayan, who has not seen Kuttanad and who has not walked through the bund even once, should not challenge a person like me who served as party secretary of Kuttanad taluk," he said. "Alappuzha is a double-edged weapon," he added.
Earlier, Sudhakaran alleged a CPM-BJP deal in Chengannur. He was speaking at a UDF election campaign meeting near Aravukad temple. He claimed that Saji Cherian used to win in Chengannur with the votes from RSS and BJP, as a return favour for support in panchayat elections. "Is Vijayan ready to investigate the evident BJP alliance in Chengannur?" he asked. "Cherian even decided the BJP candidate in Chengannur. He is the head of criminal politics," Sudhakaran alleged.
