State information commission resolves 28 complaints during hearing
Kochi: All 28 complaints reviewed during the hearing held by state information commission were resolved. The hearing, led by state information commissioner Sonichen P Joseph, was held in the collectorate conference hall and addressed complaints from Palakkad, Thrissur and Ernakulam after hearing both parties.Both parties involved and the officials representing them were present in person at the hearing. The commission made significant interventions in three cases related to the Kerala University of Health Sciences. It was noted that two appellate authorities are functioning within the university, and the commission said that it would examine the legal validity of this under Right to Information Act and take appropriate action. Regarding complaints related to police department, many applicants requested CCTV footage spanning several days. The commission explained the practical difficulties in providing such lengthy footage and mentioned that the police would be instructed to provide footage for shorter, specific time frames and dates if requested.
