Sexual assault case: Police locate caravan

Kochi: The investigation into the sexual assault complaint against filmmaker-actor Ranjith has progressed, with police identifying the caravan where a young actress alleged that an attempt was made to harass her during a film shoot.According to police, a detailed forensic inspection and evidence collection from the caravan will be conducted only after the custody of the accused is secured. A meeting of probe team was held under the city police commissioner and deputy commissioner on Thursday to decide the next steps in the probe. Statements will be recorded from those present at the shooting location during the incident, including the victim's colleagues who were informed about it at the time. Meanwhile, advocate Mohammed Siyad withdrew from representing Ranjith following controversy over his role as a legal member of film's Internal Complaints Committee.
