Kochi: IMD issued a yellow warning of heavy rainfall for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki on Saturday. A yellow warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places over the state will continue until Sunday.Thunderstorms with gusty winds warning will continue until Tuesday. IMD also issued a warning for fishers venturing into the sea. Meanwhile, state received heavy rainfall on Thursday evening. Padannakkad in Kasargod recorded 9cm rainfall in 24 hours till Friday morning. Thalassery in Kannur and Cheruvanchery in Kannur recorded 7cm rainfall. Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod will be on yellow alert on Sunday. In view of this, authorities advised the public to take precautions. Squally weather with wind speed of 40 to 50kmph gusting to 60kmph is likely to prevail along and off Kerala coast on Saturday.
