Man booked for assaulting auto driver in road rage incident
Kochi: Ernakulam North police have registered a case after a two-wheeler rider attacked a 34-year-old man at a service road near North Overbridge on Saturday. The victim has been identified as Sulfikar T S, an autorickshaw driver from Aluva. As per the FIR, the attack occurred around 1.30pm. The attacker came to the spot on an electric scooter wearing a helmet, mask and gloves. The victim stopped after seeing a goods vehicle parked on the road and blocking his way. Sulfikar then got down from his rickshaw and approached the the other vehicle's driver. Meanwhile, the accused screamed at Sulfikar and asked him to move his rickshaw. In response, the complainant pushed the accused who retaliated by hitting Sulfikar with his helmet multiple times. According to the FIR, the passers-by intervened and stopped the attack. The case was registered based on Sulfikar's complaint. Efforts are on to trace the accused.
