died at a private hospital here on Saturday. He was 68. He was also the Thrissur SNDP union president and the director board member of the union for quite some time.He was the producer of ‘Shalini Ente Koottukari’, a popular movie in the early 1980s. The film, directed by Mohan and written by P Padmarajan, was produced under the banner ‘Mithra’. Suryaprakash was also the producer of ‘Prema Geethangal’ directed by Balachandra Menon, and ‘Veena Poovu’ directed by Ambili.He was a confidante of the late Congress leader K Karunakaran. He had joined the DIC floated by Karunakaran, but re-joined Congress when Karunakaran returned to the party. Though he left Congress and contested the last local body elections from Thrissur as a CPM candidate, he could not win.
