Kochi: Authorities at Govt Medical College, Ernakulam, have started measures to procure a slew of machines required for providing modern treatment to patients in various departments. Earlier, BPCL Kochi Refinery had allotted Rs 90 lakh for the medical college to procure equipment.
This initiative is part of enhancing advanced treatment facilities in various departments of the hospital. Coagulation Analyzer (ROTEM) for the transfusion medicine department, a Truenat PCR Machine (Quattro) and associated test kits for the microbiology department, and equipment such as a Fractional CO2 Laser, Diode Laser, Monochromatic UVB Therapy Unit and a Derm Chair for the dermatology department will be procured.

The laser machines for the dermatology department will be utilized in the newly established Cosmetology Clinic.
