Cannabis haul at Ernakulam South Railway Station; Odisha native arrested
Kochi: Govt railway police (GRP) seized 12kg of cannabis during a special drive at Ernakulam South railway station on Thursday ahead of the Easter holidays.A team led by sub-inspector Nizarudheen A, SHO of Ernakulam railway police station, arrested Kumud Pradhan, 38, a native of Odisha, with 3.5kg of cannabis early on Thursday. Subsequent searches on platforms and adjoining areas led to the recovery of an additional 9kg of cannabis. Police said last year alone, around 400kg of cannabis smuggled via trains was seized by Ernakulam railway police.
