KOCHI: State women’s commission chairperson M C Josephine said here on Wednesday that complaints of women getting deserted by men in living-together relationships are on the rise.
Speaking after the mega adalat of the commision at the collectorate conference hall here on Wednesday, Josephine said extramarital relationships are shattering marital relationships in the state.

The adalat considered 86 complaints of which 26 were settled. While four complaints were forwarded to obtain reports from other departments, 56 were posted for the next adalat.
In a complaint by actor Sajitha Madathil regarding defamation through social media, commission directed city police commissioner and cyber cell to take strict action against the culprits. In a complaint filed by a woman against her living-together partner, which accused him of taking away her personal documents, the commission directed that they be handed over to Fort Kochi police.
