Temple idols vandalized, bells stolen in Hamirpur

Kanpur: Some unidentified miscreants allegedly vandalised idols of a temple in Padhohri village of Hamirpur district on Wednesday night. The temple priest Balak Das said that he left the temple after evening prayers on Wednesday and on returning on Thursday morning he found the idols broken and the bells stolen. Kotwali in-charge Umesh Kumar Singh confirmed that idols were damaged and said that an investigation will be initiated . SDM Karanveer Singh stated that the idol will be re-installed with the help of villagers and strict action will be taken against those responsible. tnn
