Kanpur: Gaurav Memorial International School outplayed DPS Azad Nagar in two straight games (2-0) and won the title of the volleyball of the Youth Olympic games being held here on Monday.
DPS Azad Nagar, in the first semi-final, drubbed Ekme School by 2-0 and in the second semi-final, Gaurav Memorial School beat Oxford Model School by an identical margin.
The volleyball championship was held at Pt Deen Dayl Sanatan Dharm Vidyalaya and 12 schools participated in this event. DPS Azad Nagar and Oxford Model School got second and third place.
Cycling – Rishabh of DAV Inter College and Kirti Shukla of SVM Inter College won individual time trial titles of class IXth to XIIth in cycling held under the Youth Olympic Games being held here. The event was held at Green Park Stadium in which 110 students of various schools participated. Bhanu Prasad, regional sports officer, inaugurated the event. The results are as follows:
Boys – Class IX to XII – Individual Time Trial: 1. Rishabh (DAV Inter College), 2. Mohd Faiz (Giriza Smarak), 3. Tanishq (BNSD Inter College).
Class I to VIII: 1. Rajveer (BNSD), 2. Ayushman (Seth Moti Lal Kheria School), 3. Prem Babu (BNSD).
Girls – Class IX to XII – Individual Time Trial: Kirti Shukla.
Class I to VIII: 1. Khushi (Kanpur Vidya Mandir), 2. Aarti (Vijaya School), 3. Shweta (Kanpur Vidya Mandir).
