MoU signed in Chitrakoot to accelerate ‘Zero Poverty’ campaign
Jhansi: The district administration of Chitrakoot on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang State University for initiating a ‘Zero Poverty’ campaign.
The agreement aims to ensure planned and targeted interventions for the holistic development of identified poor families under the state’s ‘Zero Poverty’ campaign.
The MoU was signed by vice-chancellor Prof. Shishir Kumar Pandey on behalf of the university and chief development officer Devi Prasad Pal representing the district administration.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of key officials, including university registrar Madhurendra Kumar Parvat, economics and statistics officer Rahul Gaur, MoU in-charge Rajnish Kumar, and Zero Poverty campaign nodal officer Shashi Kant Tripathi.
Under the agreement, a detailed micro-planning exercise will be undertaken for all families identified under the Zero Poverty category across tengram panchayats in the Karvi development block. These include Akbarpur, Baglai, Chandra Gahna Mafi, Dahini, Ghuretanpur, Pahi, Sudinpur, Titihara, Padri, and Sapha.
The officials stated that a systematic survey will be conducted to assess the socio-economic conditions of each family. Based on this assessment, need-based schemes and targeted interventions will be implemented to ensure effective delivery of welfare benefits.
“The initiative is expected to play a crucial role in advancing Chitrakoot towards achieving the Zero Poverty goal, while also setting an example of effective collaboration between the administration and an academic institution”, Prof Pandey said.
While elaborating the project, Pandey further said that it will be carried out in three stages in which their students will do an elaborate survey of the socio ecological state of these villages and help them in enhancing their academics along with making them aware about government schemes, startups, and easy loans. This may help the villages in adopting better career prospects.
