Life term to two for murder

KANPUR: Additional district and sessions judge Jai Mangal Sharma on Thursday convicted two persons for committing a murder and sentenced them for life imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 each. The sentenced persons were identified as Santosh Singh and Ram Lakhan Singh, residents of Nasada village in Narwal. They had killed a fellow villager on January 6, 2012. A dispute had taken place between Vivek alias Buddar, brother of the complainant and accused. Elders of the village intervened in the matter. Around midnight Santosh Singh, Ram Lakhan and two other persons called Vivek and dragged him to a lonely place. Some villagers witnessed that Santosh Singh and Ram Lakhan had tied towel on the neck of Vivek and they were dragging him. Later Vivek was found dead.
