Jawan dies in accident

Jhansi: A 46-year-old Army jawan, who was driving an Army truck, got injured in an accident on Monday morning in Babina and later succumbed .Harikesh, a resident of Ghazipur, along with members of his unit from Alwar, was heading towards the Babina Firing Range to attend an exercise when the truck collided with a jeep loaded .Harikesh was pulled out of the vehicle with the help of passers-by and taken to Jhansi medical college, where doctors declared him dead. Babina police station in-charge Vinay Kumar Sahu said the pick-up was travelling from Kanpur to Babina Manpur. The pick-up driver was taken into police custody, and a case was registered against him.The collision was so severe that the road remained closed for nearly two hours. tnn
