Fire at Kanpur Tannery compound, none injured

Kanpur:A major fire broke out in a godown in Kanpur Tannery compound in Sisamau police station area of the City on Sunday. After the information, fire tenders from all the fire stations of the city reached the spot and doused the fire.The fire destroyed machine parts kept in the godown worth several lakh.The fire could be controlled after about two and a half hours of effort. Chief Fire Officer Deepak Sharma and officers of all fire stations reached the spot and supervised the rescue operation. “On the information, in Kanpur Tannery compound, all officials of fire stations along with 8 fire fighting units, worked hard in extreme temperature and smoke and completely extinguished the fire,” said CFO. None reported to suffer injuries, he added.
