Fabeeha Nafis, Aroma reach U-17 girls final in state squash c’ship
Kanpur: Fabeeha Nafis and Aroma will clash in the final of the Under-17 girls' group in the KK Sharma Memorial UP State Ranking Squash Championship, being played here on Sunday.Fabeeha defeated Ashi Nagar (Noida) by 3-0 in the first semi-final, and Aroma outplayed Shreya Srivastava (Varanasi) by 3-1 in the second semi-final.
In all, 44 ties were held on Saturday in various age groups. Players from Dhampur and Varanasi once again dominated the proceedings.The results of the second day's ties:Boys U-11: Devansh Sisodia (Dhampur) and Sparsh Kumar (Vns) entered the semi-finals. Devansh beat Ram Babu (Vns) 3-0, and Sparsh Kumar outplayed Ansh Rai (Vns) by 3-1.U-13: Kavya Shankar (Dhampur), Anup Prajapati (Dhampur) and Naman Kumar (Dhampur) sailed into the semi-finals. Kavya Pratap beat Shourya Pratap Yadav (Prayagraj) by 3-0, Anup Prajapati beat Divyansh (Vns) by 3-0, and Naman Kumar beat Atharva Awasthi by 3-0. U-15: Anoop Kumar (Vns) beat Abir Khullar (Lkw) by 3-0, Arush Sharma (Dhampur) beat Ansh Kumar (Dhampur) by 3-1, Arjun Maheshwari (Noida) beat Aham Yadav (Prayagraj) by 3-0, and Madhur Anand (Prayagraj) beat Rudransh Singh (Prayagraj) by 3-0. All the winners moved into the semi-finals.U-17: Arnav Khandelwal (Noida) beat Varun Singh (Prayagraj) 3-0, Aham Yadav (Dhampur) beat Chitransh Dubey (Vns) 3-1, Anuj Kumar (Vns) beat Tejaswa Dhandhania (Knp) 3-1, and Raghav Vashistha (Dhampur) beat Samar Jisal (Dhampur) 3-0. KCA is organising this league without any sponsor. According to Kaushal Kumar Singh, honorary secretary, KCA, the chief guest, Raghuveer Lal (Police Commissioner), will inaugurate the league at 9.30 am.Shooting: Indian sport shooter Shubham Dixit, a 10 m air pistol shooter from Kanpur, was conferred the highly respected ‘Renowned Shot' title at India's premier national shooting championship conducted under the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), a recognition awarded to a select group of shooters nationwide based on performance standards.
