Euphoria to give a musical start to three-day Bithoor Fest
Kanpur: A vibrant panorama of art and culture would be presented at the three-day Bithoor Mahotsav scheduled to be held from Feb 26 to 28. The major attractions of this year's festival include performances by rock band Euphoria led by Palash Sen on the inaugural day while renowned singer Gopal M Tiwari will grace the closing evening with a musical concert.
The literary segment will feature a Kavi Sammelan with eminent poets including Dinesh Bawra, Pratap Faujdar, Shambhu Shikhar, Rao Ajata Shatru, and Sabina Adeeb. Classical dance presentations by the Bhopal Kathak Committee and a Karna-based dramatic performance by Shri Ram Kala Kendra will further enhance the grandeur of the event.The festival aims to highlight Bithoor's historical identity and tourism potential, while offering a wider platform to local artistes. The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the festival. The festival will commence on Feb 26 with dance, rangoli, slogan-writing, and art competitions for school students. Kathak dance performances and a musical night featuring Palash Sen will be the main attractions of the opening day. Feb 27 will focus on youth-centric events like ‘Battle of the Bands' and ‘Kanpur's Got Talent,' showcasing skills of local performers. Other events to follow will be a drama and a Kavi Sammelan.A rich confluence of folk and classical traditions will mark the concluding day on Feb 28. The Prayagraj Cultural Center will present Bundelkhand's Pai Danda, Braj's Holi, Rajasthani Manganiyar singing, Punjab's Gatka, and Odisha's Gotipua. The festival will conclude with Ganga Aarti at Patthar Ghat, followed by a musical concert by Gopal M Tiwari.
