Coach accused of molesting minor boxer

Kanpur: A 15-year-old boxing player filed FIR against her coach accusing him of molesting her in Gwaltoli police station on Saturday. The player alleged in her complaint that the coach touched her with wrong intentions on the pretext of imparting training to her. On protesting, he threatened to spoil her career, the complainant added.
Gwaltoli police lodged FIR under IPC sections 354, 504, 506 and initiated investigations in this regard.Gwaltoli police station in charge Rakesh said the call recording of the conversation between the coach and the player had become an important evidence in the whole case, on the basis of which, FIR was registered against the coach under other sections including molestation. “In one of the call recordings, the coach is heard abusing the girl student and saying indecent things to her. In the second call recording, the girl’s brother was also abused for opposing his indecency,” the inspector added.
