State govt has many power centres; people no longer trust RPSC: Pilot

Jodhpur: Former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot on Friday criticised the BJP-led state govt for having multiple power centers, which, according to him, has led to confusion and lack of coordination. Pilot, while addressing the media here, expressed concerns about the state govt's functioning from its inception and highlighted the stagnation in rural development projects. He criticised the halt of development projects in rural areas, accusing the current BJP govt of not executing tenders issued during the previous Congress govt’s tenure.In response to minister Kirori Lal Meena's remarks concerning his call to dissolve the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), Pilot reiterated his stance. "Before the elections, they (BJP politicians) used to make big promises, but when it comes to dissolving RPSC, everyone is stepping back. People no longer trust RPSC," he said.Pilot said different power centers have emerged in the BJP-led state govt from the beginning. He said that it was typically unusual for administrative tensions to arise early in a govt's term. "Usually, such tensions arise in govts after three to four years of assuming office, but here I am seeing that different power centres have emerged right from the beginning. This is harmful for the people of the state," Pilot said.Pilot also questioned the clarity of governance within the state govt. "It is unclear who is running the state govt. Sometimes one leader says something and, at other times, someone else says something different. There is a lack of coordination within the govt, which is why absurd statements are coming out," he said, while responding to the issue of 'one state, one election.'During his visit to Khejadli near Jodhpur to attend the 'Shahidi Diwas' organised by Bishnoi community on Friday, Pilot commented on BJP’s political strategy of targeting leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi whenever BJP govt is on the back foot."This is a habit of BJP to malign him (Rahul); level allegations against him and question him. But Congress is progressing strongly and we will make govt in every state that is going to polls," he said, adding that people’s expectations from BJP have dashed.Pilot emphasised the changing political atmosphere in the country, attributing it to Rahul's efforts. "The way Rahul is working to fix the govt’s responsibility, shows the changed atmosphere in the country," he said.

State govt to build Marathi Gymkhana in SoBo: Minister
