Jodhpur: The district rural police on Saturday arrested four smugglers with illicit liquor worth Rs 41 lakh in a truck. The truck was going from Punjab to Gujarat and was being escorted by a car. The truck contained 360 cartons of illicit liquor. SP (Jodhpur Rural) Dharmendra Singh Yadav said that the cyber cell team had received information about illicit liquor in a truck heading towards Gujarat.

In other news, police seized illicit liquor in Jhabua and Chandigarh, while the PHED minister laid the foundation stone for water projects in Jaipur. Drinking water schemes were also inaugurated in Chennai and Lucknow, and the Rajasthan Water Supply and Sewerage Management Board approved water projects worth Rs 1,100 crore.
Trucks carrying illegal coal seized, 7 arrested
Seven individuals were arrested and nine coal-laden trucks were seized by Giridih police in an operation on the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway. The operation was conducted based on a tip-off about the arrival of trucks suspected of carrying illegal coal. The coordinated efforts of various police stations led to the apprehension of the trucks at different locations along the highway. The police have declared that strict legal actions will be taken against those involved.
