Woman dies by suicide along with 8-yr-old son

Jaipur: A 32-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide along with her eight-year-old son by jumping in front of a train in Jaipur. The mutilated bodies were found near the railway track close to Shikarpura gate Saturday evening. The matter came to light Sunday evening when the deceased woman’s brother woman approached Malpura Gate police station to report a missing complaint of his sister and nephew.

“Prima facie, it appears the woman jumped before the train while holding her son. Their bodies were kept at the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital mortuary and efforts were on to identify them,” said a senior police officer Monday.

Udaibhan Yadav, SHO of Malpura Gate police station, said, “As a man came with some photographs to lodge a missing complaint of a woman and a boy, we took him to the mortuary for identification. The deceased were later identified as Ramkanya Bairwa and her son Virendra, residents of Muhana village.” The victim’s brother has accused her husband and in-laws of harassment, alleging that she was subjected to frequent domestic violence.
