Rahul to visit Pushkar on June 1 for Congress training camp
Jaipur: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will visit Pushkar on June 1 to interact with newly appointed District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents attending a residential training camp under the party’s Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.
Party sources said Gandhi is also expected to seek feedback from PCC and DCC office-bearers on the functioning of the organisation. The visit is being viewed as part of Congress’ efforts to strengthen its organisational structure in Rajasthan ahead of local body polls.
Addressing the camp Thursday, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully targeted the BJP govts at the Centre and in Rajasthan over rising unemployment. He alleged that the youth were being diverted from real issues through “politics of hollow promises and communalism”.
Referring to the Azim Premji University’s “State of Working India 2026” report, Jully claimed that while around five million graduates pass out every year, only 1.7 million secure jobs. Citing media reports, he said youth unemployment stood at 15.2%, while unemployment among young women was 18%.
Jully also criticised demonetisation and GST, alleging that the policies severely impacted MSMEs and informal establishments, leading to large-scale job losses.
