Jaipur: A city-based man has lodged an FIR at Shastri Nagar police station alleging that his wife and her alleged lover conspired to murder him, threatened to implicate him in false criminal cases, and fled with gold and silver jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.
Police said the FIR was registered Saturday.
According to the complaint, the couple got married in Feb 2025, but the woman allegedly continued a relationship with another man even after the marriage. “She used to remain on phone calls with the alleged lover late into the night and frequently took money from him on various pretexts, including online transfers,” the complainant stated in the FIR.
The husband further alleged that after he came to know about the relationship and stopped giving her money, the alleged lover began pressuring her to eliminate him.
“He has also stated that on Jan 6, 2026, the alleged lover called his wife and allegedly instructed her to kill him quickly. Thereafter, while he was asleep at night, his wife tied both his legs tightly with a dupatta and attempted to tie his hands. But he woke up during the act and questioned her, after which she allegedly dismissed it as a joke, saying she could not sleep,” said an officer while quoting the FIR.
According to police, the complainant further alleged that after realising he had become suspicious, the woman fled from the house with her alleged lover after taking gold and silver jewellery kept at the residence.
Initially, the man lodged a missing person report after his wife left home. Police said he later approached the police station with a detailed complaint after failing to trace her.
The complainant also alleged that the woman and her alleged lover were pressuring him for a divorce and threatening to implicate him in false dowry and other criminal cases if he refused.
“We have lodged an FIR and will take the statements of the victim and take further legal action,” the officer added.
