HC tells govt to check illegal mining by minister's sons
JAIPUR: The Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday directed the officials of the state government to ensure that the sons of minister Bharose Lal Jatav don't do illegal mining at Hindon City.A division bench comprising Chief Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Alok Sharma issued the order on a writ petition filed by one Ashok Pathak. It was contended before the bench that the mining lease weregiven to Brijesh, Naresh, Surendra and Naveen, sons of motor garage ministerBharose Lal Jatav in a forest land where mining was prohibited.In May 2004, the application for allotment of lease by minister's sons was rejected but later on the permission was granted by-passing the law. On November 20, 2009, the Pollution Control Board too issued no objection certificate.It was also argued that when the matter came to thelimelight, the mining lease allotment was cancelled on January 12 thisyear.The division bench has directed chief secretary, principalconservator of forests, principal secretary, mining, director, mining departmentand collector, Kaurali to personally ensure that no illegal mining is done underany political pressure by-passing thelaw.
