“Getting stronger every week”: Brittany Mahomes returns to heavy lifting after years of back pain and postpartum recovery
Brittany Mahomes shared a workout milestone after years of back injury recovery, posting a video of herself squatting heavy weight. The update followed her earlier revelation of a pelvic floor injury that once limited her movement. Now nearly a year postpartum, she says she feels fully recovered and remains committed to staying active, healthy, and strong for her children and daily life.
For years, Brittany Mahomes quietly carried an injury that reshaped how she moved, trained, and lived day to day. This week, she chose to show progress instead of pain. A short workout clip shared online told a longer story of recovery, discipline, and persistence that quickly caught attention well beyond the fitness world. The moment resonated because it came from someone often seen on NFL sidelines rather than under a barbell. As the wife of Patrick Mahomes, Brittany’s life is regularly public. Her recovery, though, unfolded mostly off camera. Until now.

From rehab to heavy lifts, Brittany Mahomes shows how far she has come

Brittany Mahomes reposted a video on her Instagram Stories showing herself completing a barbell back squat of what appeared to be 70 pounds. The clip was originally shared by her trainer, Kirsty Rae, who captured not just the lift but the meaning behind it.
“A year and a half ago, rehabbing a broken back meant severe pain and limited movement. Now, almost a year postpartum and progressively getting stronger every week. Proof that the body is capable of incredible things when you meet it with patience and intentional training,” Rae wrote.“So proud of you @brittanylynne 🤍,” she added.Brittany previously revealed in March 2024 that she suffered a pelvic floor injury following childbirth. At the time, she shared a blunt reminder with followers:“Just a daily reminder. Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor.
Seriously,” she wrote, singing the warning as “A girl with a fractured back.”Months later, her tone shifted from caution to relief. “I’m doing great. My back is no longer broke, so that's good,” she told E! News. “I’m still in the gym. I'm finally, I think, fully recovered and back to doing the things that I've always been able to do.”Now a mother of three, Brittany says staying active is no longer about aesthetics or goals. It is about longevity. “I'm staying on top of my health, and being active and healthy for my kids and my dogs is super important to me.”The squat was not just a workout clip. It was proof of how far she has come.
