CM eases promotion rules, adds 15 assistant secretary posts

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma Thursday announced a two-year relaxation in job experience required for promotions of secretariat employees and the creation of 15 additional assistant secretary posts.

Sharma made the announcements while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the Rajasthan Secretariat Service Officers’ Association at the secretariat.

He said 15 assistant secretary posts were created in 2025 to expand promotion opportunities, and announced 15 more posts “with a view to benefit more personnel through time-bound promotions.” He also announced a two-year relaxation for cadres that had not earlier been able to avail the relaxation for promotions.

Sharma directed chief secretary V. Srinivas to assess requirements in the secretariat and various departments. He said the 2026-27 budget includes several provisions for employees and pensioners, including a decision to set up a high-level committee to study promotion and pay-scale issues, which will also consider future recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission.

The CM also said officers will be given international-level training to shift from a rule-based to a role-based work style.

Citing employee welfare measures, including bringing daughters-in-law under compassionate appointment rules, approving child care leave for single women employees in six phases, and setting up ‘Mukhyamantri Shishu-Vatsalya Sadan’, Sharma said the govt is committed to providing better, stress-free workplace environment for women.Get real-time updates and result insights on the CBSE 12 Result 2026.
