Jaisalmer: The 50th national inter-frontier battalion support weapons competition concluded at the Kishangarh field firing range in Jaisalmer on Friday.
The Gujarat Frontier was declared overall winner of the 5-day competition.
BSF jawans and officers from the entire country displayed their war skills at the event. Chief guest, Sector North DIG, Mukesh Kumar Singh gave away the awards to winners.
According to information from BSF sources, Commandant S K Shastri welcomed DIG Kumar. Sector North Commandant Sanjay Sharma, 119 BN BSF Commandant Ravinder Chandel, 57 BSF Commandant Surendra Mishra, 139 Officiating Commadant Rajesh Bhandoriya and others were present.
Around 700 shooters from 11 frontiers took part in the event and showcased their skills using support weapons 81mm mortar and medium machine guns.
Gujarat, North Bengal & Rajasthan frontiers stood at the first three positions in 81mm mortar competition, while Rajasthan, Gujarat & North Bengal frontiers stood on first three positions, respectively, in medium machine gun competition.
