ASI killed as rifle goes off in Bikaner

JAISALMER: An assistant sub-inspector of Border Security Force (BSF) died after his service rifle went off accidentally while he was cleaning it in Bikaner on Tuesday.
Man Singh was in the duty at the international border in Gharsana area adjoining Bikaner sector. DIG Yashwant Singh, other BSF officers and police team reached the spot and started the investigation.
According to BSF sources, Singh (52) of 104 Battalion, a resident of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, was doing routine cleaning of his rifle and accidentally it goes off.

Other BSF jawans on hearing the gun fire reached the spot and took him to primary health centre where the doctor declared him dead, sources said.
Sources said, Singh was very talented and friendly and his services were very praiseworthy. His family stays at Bulandshahr and he is survived by wife and son and daughter.
Yashwant said that it was a big loss for BSF as Singh was very dedicated and excellent officer. His body is being sent to his native place after post-mortem.
