2 trainee SIs dismissed for impersonation in 2021 exam

Jaipur: Two under-training sub-inspectors stationed at Kota Police Lines were dismissed from govt service Thursday. The action came after the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police determined that the duo had allegedly cleared the 2021 SI recruitment examination by employing dummy candidates.The dismissed sub-inspectors, identified as Sher Singh, 29, and Manohar Singh, 26, both residents of Jalore, were already incarcerated on related charges.
Investigators said the two allegedly entered govt service through a criminal conspiracy by arranging impersonators to appear in the recruitment exam on their behalf, securing selection through unfair means. According to sources within the SOG, the pair was arrested in Sept last year after their involvement in a dummy candidate racket was substantiated by investigators. Since the unveiling of this fraud, a total of 53 trainee SIs recruited through the same examination have faced dismissal from service by inspectors general across various ranges in the state. The revelation of this malpractice emerged during an extensive inquiry into alleged irregularities surrounding the controversial 2021 SI recruitment exam, which has been plagued by issues including paper leaks. Officials confirmed that the SOG is currently examining numerous cases tied to candidates suspected of utilising dummy test-takers to successfully complete the written examination. Following their arrest in Kota, Sher Singh and Manohar Singh were produced in court after a formal investigation had been initiated in Jaipur. Subsequently, Kota Range Inspector General Rajendra Prasad enforced their immediate dismissal under Rule 19(2) of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958, citing their conduct as grossly contrary to police rules and discipline.
