Mhow: Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) hosted a seminar focusing on drone threats, cyber risks, and evolving dynamics of electromagnetic spectrum on Tuesday.
The seminar brought together representatives from
BSF and police, underscoring need for a ‘whole-of-nation approach' to modern security concerns. It highlighted growing risks posed by low-cost commercial drones, which are increasingly being used for surveillance, smuggling, and potential weaponisation. Experts stressed urgent need to enhance detection and tracking capabilities, particularly in urban environments and border regions where low-altitude drone activity presents complex challenges, MCTE press release stated.
MCTE Commandant Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi underlined that technological advancement must be matched by institutional coordination. He called for stronger collaboration between the Army, BSF, and police forces through a joint, multi-agency framework.
Senior officers including MCTE deputy commandant Maj Gen Gautam Mahajan, Brig MS Randhawa, Cyber SP Sabyasachi Saraf, DSNS Raghuvasnhi along with BSF officers were present in the seminar.
