Khargone: A 26-year-old man was arrested with 170 crates of country-made and foreign liquor worth over Rs 5 lakh in Balakwada area of Khargone.
Police said, on Feb 24, a tip-off was received that a pickup carrying a large consignment of illicit liquor was moving from Kasrawad towards Sendhwa. Acting on the tip-off it, a police team led by police station in-charge Sagar Chouhan set up a checkpoint near village Panwa.

The vehicle was intercepted and the driver identified as Vikas was found transporting 150 crates of beer and 20 crates of country liquor, totalling about 1,980 litre, without valid documents or licence. The liquor, valued at approximately Rs 5.07 lakh, and the pickup vehicle worth Rs 8 lakh were seized.
A case was registered under the Excise Act.
