Indore: Four employees working at Choithram Mandi were stabbed by a group of men late Wednesday night after they allegedly refused to give money for liquor near the mandi gate under Rajendra Nagar police station limits. Two of the injured workers are said to be in a serious condition.The incident took place near the public toilet close to the mandi gate. Police identified the injured as Arun, a resident of Raja Rani Nagar, Sunil, Ranjit and Suraj. All four work at shop number 1 in Choithram Mandi.Police said the workers were returning home after unloading vehicles carrying fruits when they were stopped by more than three men sitting in the dark near the mandi gate. The accused allegedly demanded money to buy liquor.When Sunil refused to give the money the men allegedly pulled out knives and attacked him. The other workers rushed to intervene but were also stabbed during the assault. Panic spread across the mandi premises following the attack.Rajendra Nagar police reached the spot after receiving information and shifted the injured to hospital. During preliminary investigation, police found that the attackers were residents of Ahirkhedi area. They were allegedly involved in robbery and extortion activities around the mandi in the past.
