Indore: A fight broke out between
Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) medical college students and a sweets shop employee at Sarafa on Thursday late night after one of the students consumed a sweet without prior permission of the shop owner.
Additional DCP Abhinay Vishwakarma said that the dispute started when one of the students picked up a sweet from the shop and ate it without permission. “He tried to leave without paying for the same. This started an altercation between the shop owner and the student,” he said.
The verbal spat escalated and the students damaged the shop and pushed out their utensils on the road. They also pushed one of the employees who fell in a big wok sustaining minor burns on his back. Soon after this, several shop owners gathered on the spot and thrashed the youths. A female student accompanying them was harassed by the crowd and abused verbally.
Additional DCP Vishwakarma said on the complaint of on the complaint of the sweets shop owner, a case was registered against Manoj Khubchandani,
Sandeep Choudhary and a woman, all students of MGM medical college whereas on the complaint of the female student, a case was registered against the Shivgiri sweets shop employees Omprakash and
Shailendra under section 354 of the IPC and for violence.
