Cousin attacks youth with sword after drunken altercation in Mandsaur

Indore: An 18-year-old was injured after he was allegedly attacked by his cousin with a sword in Mandsaur district late Saturday night. The teen, Arjun, a resident of Arniya Nizamuddin village sustained a deep injury on his hand. He was admitted to district hospital.His cousin, Ram Singh, was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Arjun was outside his house when Singh arrived and began abusing him. When Arjun objected, the argument escalated. In the middle of the confrontation, Singh allegedly went inside the house, returned with a sword and attacked Arjun from behind, leaving him seriously injured.Family members intervened and managed to stop further violence. They rushed Arjun to hospital. The incident has triggered anger within the family, who have demanded strict action against the accused.Efforts are on to trace and apprehend the accused, while officials said further action will follow based on the victim's statement and medical report.
