Cold recedes as day and night temperature rises in city
Indore: The city witnessed a clear rise in both day and night temperature on Sunday. The warmer trend brought relief from the recent chill, while partly cloudy skies helped maintain steady conditions through the day.The maximum temperature reached 29.3 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal and nearly three degrees higher than Saturday's 26.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature also climbed, settling around 15.2 degrees Celsius, about four degrees higher than normal.
At 8.30 am, the city recorded a temperature of 18.8 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity at 61 percent. Visibility stood at 5000 metre under hazy conditions. Winds blew from the east-southeast at speeds of 11 to 12 km per hour. Partly cloudy weather prevailed through the day, with patches of cloud cover drifting across the sky at intervals. The cloud presence reduced direct solar glare at times, but did not block sunlight completely, allowing temperatures to rise.Met officials said, several systems are influencing the weather pattern. A western disturbance in the form of cyclonic circulation is present over north Pakistan at heights of 3.1 and 5.8 km, with an associated trough extending at higher levels. Another induced cyclonic circulation lies over north Rajasthan and south Haryana, while a trough runs from central Maharashtra through Gujarat towards this system. Strong upper-level westerlies also persist over parts of the country.Arun Sharma from Bhopal Meteorological Office said no cold day conditions were recorded in central western Madhya Pradesh in the last 24 hours. Dense fog is likely in extreme northern districts, including Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Niwari, Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur on Monday morning. Isolated rainfall may occur in northern districts between Feb 3 and 5 as a new western disturbance approaches northwest India. No warnings were issued so far.
