Indore: A layer of grey clouds and persistent gusty winds kept the city's temperature in check on Wednesday, bringing a brief spell of relief from the early April heat.The weather remained unsettled for the past two days under the influence of an active system in the upper atmosphere. On Wednesday, dusty winds swept across the city through the day, while the sky remained overcast. Drizzle was reported in some areas, with brief showers occurring late at night in isolated pockets.Cool winds since morning, coupled with cloud cover, led to a noticeable drop in temperature. The maximum temperature was recorded at 32.2 degrees Celsius, six degrees below normal and among the lowest so far this month. The minimum temperature stood at 21.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.The change in weather conditions offered respite to residents who had been experiencing rise in temperature over the past week. Fluctuations are expected to continue.The meteorological dept said wind speeds in the range of 30 to 40 km per hour are likely in the coming days. Sudden changes in the afternoon weather, including gusty winds and light rain, may occur.
Meteorologists have also indicated that a fresh western disturbance is expected to become active around April 11. This could lead to increased cloud activity and a rise in rain across the region, including Indore.Officials have advised residents to remain cautious amid changing weather conditions, particularly during periods of strong winds and sudden showers.During the last 24 hours, widespread thunderstorm activity accompanied by rain was reported across parts of western Madhya Pradesh, including Mandsaur, Ratlam, Indore, Ujjain, Jhabua and Dhar, indicating a broad spell of unstable weather across the state.
