Violence breaks out after Big Boss winner declared

Hyderabad: Violence broke out between fans of two contestants of Telugu TV reality show ‘Big Boss’ on Sunday night after the announcement of winner at a studio in Banjara Hills. Police had to use force to bring the situation under control. Local police said that in one of the multiple cases registered by them, Big Boss winner Pallavi Prashanth was also booked for taking out a rally.Waiting for the winner to be announced, a large number of persons gathered outside the studio. After Pallavi Prashanth was declared as the winner, he along with his supporters took out a rally. Anticipating trouble, police was already on the scene as part of bandobust. The crowd, which gathered at the studio, had both Prashanth and competitor Amardeep Chowdary’s supporters. Unknown persons among the crowd started damaging cars at the location. The accused also damaged wind-shields of six RTC buses and a police vehicle. To control the situation, police resorted to lathicharge and dispersed the crowd. As a fallout of the incident, traffic movement at Krishna Nagar and in and around the private studio was hit. Jubilee Hills police registered two separate cases — one for damaging RTC buses and another for the police vehicle. Three vehicles belonging to private persons were also damaged. TSRTC managing director VC Sajjanar took to his ‘X’ account to react to the violence, saying that the irresponsible actions by some people in the name of fans was not good for society. “TSRTC will take such incidents seriously since public transport is meant for safe travel of passengers to their destination,” the MD said.
