Revanth preps Cong for MPTC, ZPTC polls, aims for ‘clean sweep’
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy Monday reviewed the results of the recently concluded gram panchayat elections and set the tone for the next round of local body polls, urging the Congress functionaries to aim for a clean sweep of all zilla parishad seats across Telangana.
At a three-hour long meeting with cabinet ministers, he assessed both the "gains and gaps" in the panchayat polls and called for renewed focus on the upcoming mandal parishad territorial constituency (MPTC) and zilla parishad territorial constituency (ZPTC) elections. Stressing the need for clarity, he urged the ministers that the election schedule be finalised at the earliest, saying "Let's decide soon when to hold the elections."
Revanth congratulated ministers for their efforts in the panchayat polls and exhorted them to carry the same momentum into the ZPTC, MPTC and GHMC elections. To deepen grassroots engagement, he suggested that ministers hold informal meetings with sarpanches in their respective districts to strengthen coordination and party unity.
The CM also directed ministers to aggressively counter what he termed ‘misleading claims' by the BRS, particularly on the Palamuru-Rangareddy project, and to clearly communicate to the people the alleged injustice faced by the state in sharing of river water.
The assembly session will start on Jan 2, Revanth said stressing the need to raise pending issues related to the Krishna and Godavari river waters. The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of the recent Telangan Rising Global Summit, highlighting collaborations and investment commitments.

He aimed for same sweep in panchayat polls too but the swinging back by BRS worked and pinkies made a come back just as KCR too said he is back in the â fieldâ . Interesting will be the MPTC & ZPTC results as that will be on party symbols and that reservation issue is pending and KCR said a big Neella Pratham will be started in Palamuru, Nallagonda and Pedda Patnam Anukoni Ranga reddy zilla.Read allPost comment
