HYDERABAD: Former IPS officer Vinay Ranjan Ray’s wife was found murdered at their residence in Hyderabad's posh Jubilee Hills area on Friday.
Police suspect the family’s recently hired domestic help from Nepal and her associates to be involved in the murder.
The suspects allegedly smothered Tanuja (55) and decamped with valuables from the house and are currently absconding.
Tanuja's body was found on the first floor of the family’s three-storey house in Prashasan Nagar locality.
Vinay Ranjan Ray was reportedly out of the city when the incident occurred. Police officers, including Hyderabad police commissioner V C Sajjanar, visited the crime scene. A forensic team also inspected the spot and collected evidence.
The Jubilee Hills police have registered a murder case, and special teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused.
